BioGraphical Sketch:
Zeng-Zhen Hu jointed the Climate Prediction Center in December 2009. His work is focused on ocean climate analysis and monitoring, air-sea interaction, climate variability and predictability, and climate variation attribution. Dr. Hu also has experiences in tropical Atlantic variability, global warming, US climate variability, QBO, AMOC, Asian monsoon, and ENSO prediction. He works under the supervision of Dr. Arun Kumar.
Dr. Hu received Ph. D. degrees in Climate Dynamics from Peking (Beijing) University, Beijing, China. Prior to joining CPC, he used to work at Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, as a postdoctoral fellow (1991-1993) and an associated research scientist (1993-2000); at Center for Climate System Research (CCSR), University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, as a visiting associated Professor (1995-1996) in cooperation with Profs. T. Nitta, and M. Kimoto; at Max-Planck Institute for Meteorology (MPI), Hamburg, Germany, as a senior visiting scientist (1998-2000) in cooperation with Drs. L. Bengtsson, M. Latif, K. Arpe, Lyida D. Gates, and E. Roeckner; at Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA), Calverton, MD, USA, as a postdoctoral research scientist (2000-2002) and a research scientist (2002-2009) in cooperation with Drs. B. Huang, J. Kinter III, E. K. Schneider, B. Kirtman, R. Wu, Z. Wu. C. Stan, and K. Pegion
