The forecast calls for a modest to moderate increased chance for below average rainfall over the western part of the Sahel, including eastern Senegal and western Mali. There is also a moderate chance for below average rainfall over central Chad. In contrast, there is a modest increased chance for above average rainfall in southern Burkina Faso and northern Nigeria. Climatology is expected elsewhere.
