1. Northwestern Canada:

COLD ANOMALY DEVELOPS
Weekly departures of -2°C to -6°C dominated northwestern Canada, with lows reaching -3°C at some locations. The mercury failed to reach 10°C at some northern locations and remained below 20°C across most of the region [COLD - 2 weeks].

2. Minnesota and Wisconsin:

SCATTERED HEAVY RAINS ENGENDER FLOODING
Scattered showers and thundershowers dumped 100 to 200 mm of rain on parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin. According to the media, the heavy rains triggered significant flooding in some areas [Episodic Events].

3. Canadian Maritimes:

COOL CONDITIONS PERSIST
Weekly departures of -2°C to -3°C prevailed across the Canadian Maritimes, with highs generally in the twenties (°C) along the coasts, and reaching the low thirties (°C) across the interior. The mercury dropped below 10°C at many locations [COLD - Up to 3 weeks].

4. South-Central United States:

ABOVE-NORMAL TEMPERATURES REPORTED
Temperatures were generally 2°C to 6°C above normal across the southern and central High Plains and Rockies. The mercury soared into the forties (°C) in eastern New Mexico, otherwise readings were generally in the thirties (°C). The high temperatures exacerbated wildfire conditions in Colorado and New Mexico [WARM - Up to 4 weeks].

5. Southeastern United States:

ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS PREVAIL
Little or no rain fell on the region from central interior Georgia northward to southern West Virginia. During the past 13 weeks, most of the region received fewer than 200 mm of rain, resulting in precipitation shortfalls of 50 to 250 mm. 6. Florida and Coastal Georgia:

TORRENTIAL RAINS REPORTED
Up to 300 mm of rain drenched parts of Florida and coastal Georgia and torrential downpours dominated the region [Episodic Events].

7. Southern Brazil:

WARM ANOMALY DEVELOPS
Weekly temperature departures ranged from +2°C to +5°C across eastern Mato Grosso do Sul and the western portions of Parana and Sao Paulo. Highs generally ranged from 24°C to 35°C, and the mercury remained above the freezing mark throughout the week [WARM - Up to 4 weeks].

8. Southern South America:

COLD WEATHER DOMINATES CHILE AND ARGENTINA
Subnormal temperatures, characterized by weekly departures of -2°C to -6°C, covered most of Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay and reached into southern Paraguay. Subfreezing lows dominated Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina, with the mercury plummeting below -10°C across the southern half of Argentina. Temperatures failed to reach 20°C across the southern two-thirds of the region, and readings remained below 30°C elsewhere [COLD - Up to 4 weeks].

9. British Isles:

RAINS ABATE
Precipitation totals ranged from 10 to 50 mm during the past week as unsettled weather eased. Between March 24 and June 22, precipitation totaled 200 to 500 mm, yielding 13-weeks moisture surpluses of 50 to 150 mm [WET - Up to 11 weeks].

10. Europe:

WARM ANOMALY EXPANDS SOUTHWARD
Temperatures averaged 6°C to 15°C above normal in much of Austria and Switzerland while weekly temperature departures of +2°C to +6°C prevailed across most of the remainder of Europe. Highs were generally in the thirties (°C) across the Continent, with highs in the twenties (°C) limited to Scandinavia and the British Isles [WARM - Up to 12 weeks].

11. Northern European Russia:

UNUSUALLY DRY WEATHER EASES
Generally 10 to 50 mm of precipitation fell on the region during the past week. Fewer than 100 mm of rain has fallen on the region during the past 8 weeks, but short-term deficits were generally only 50 to 100 mm [DRY - Up to 13 weeks].

12. Western Kazakhstan:

COLD ANOMALY ABATES
Temperatures were generally 2°C to 3°C below normal, but highs generally reached into the thirties (°C) throughout the region while lows ranged from 8°C to 18°C [COLD - Up to 9 weeks].

13. Burkina Faso and Southwestern Mali:

LIGHT RAINS REPORTED, ABOVE-NORMAL TEMPERATURES PERSIST
Light to locally moderate showers dropped 10 to locally 50 mm of rain on the region [DRY - Up to 7 weeks]. Temperatures averaged 2°C to 3°C above normal, with highs ranging from 36°C to 4°C1 [WARM - Up to 7 weeks].

14. Coasts of Kenya and Southern Somalia:

DRY ANOMALY DEVELOPS
Rainfall has been sparse along the Kenya and southern Somalia coast since the middle of May. Rainfall totals since June 1 are less than 40% of normal, with some locations receiving no measurable precipitation  [DRY - Up to 5 weeks].

15. North-Central China:

SCATTERED MODERATE RAINS MAINTAIN MOISTURE SURPLUSES
Scattered moderate showers (25 to 100 mm) dampened some areas while nearby locations received only 10 to 25 mm of rain. During the past 8 weeks, most of the region received 100 to 300 mm of rain, yielding short-term moisture excesses of 50 to 150 mm [WET - Up to 6 weeks].

16. East Central China and Southern Japan:

ABUNDANT RAINS EASE DRYNESS, SHORT-TERM DEFICITS REMAIN
Moderate to heavy rains (25 to 100 mm) brought relief to much of the region, with torrential rains (100 to 200 mm) falling at some locations. Despite 8-week totals of up to 600 mm, short-term moisture shortages still ranged from 50 to 400 mm [DRY - Ending at 9 weeks].

17. Indonesia:

STILL VERY DRY
Little or no rain fell on Java, southwestern Borneo, and southern Sumatra during the past week. Most locations received fewer than 300 mm of rain during the last 8 weeks, with short-term moisture deficits ranging from 50 to 300 mm [DRY - Up to 10 weeks].
