New Degree Days Products

Daily, weekly, and monthly degree days products for the Contiguous United States are now available. These data include population weighted State, Census Divisional and National data using 2010 Census data (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), and heating fuel weighted Census Divisional and National data using the 2010 Annual Community Survey data. Degree days statistics are computed using the 1981-2010 normals.

Degree days statistics in the legacy format are available here: Legacy Files

Daily degree days data in a spreadsheet friendly format are available here: Daily Degree Days

Development continues with these products, and more information and data will be available soon.

The original products available through the links below have not been changed at all, and still use the 2000 Census population and fuel customer numbers, and the 1971-2000 normals

The degree days computed in real-time during Jan 12 to April 26 (2008) were erroneous due to corrupted temperature grids. The data was re-run and the correct values are now in the archives.
