CTB Climate Science Team

The Climate Science Team (CST) responsibilities are described in the Appendix D of the Science Plan and Implementation Strategy.

The Climate Science Team (CST) is composed of technical experts from NOAA and participating organizations (including academia and other agencies). The CST will have broad experience in the climate forecast problem, modeling issues, and product generation. Membership is recommended by the CTB management, and members will serve a 3-year term (except 3, 4 and 5 years initially to allow for a smooth rotation).

    The CTB Climate Science Team:

  • K. Mo (CPC) Co-chair
  • B. Kirtman (RSMAS) Co-chair
  • M. Hoerling (CDC)
  • A. Kumar (CPC)
  • S. Moorthi (EMC)
  • S. Saha (EMC)
  • S. Schubert (GMAO)
  • J. Zhou (OST)
  • L. Goddard (IRI)
  • K. Mitchell (EMC)
  • J. Roads (Scripps)
  • J. Schemm (CPC)
  • M. Timofeyeva (NWS/OCCWS)

Current balance reflects near-term CTB activities. Membership will naturally evolve to include more members from the broader research community as the number of AO-driven activities increases.
