Afghanistan Snowfall Data Information
Gridded CPC/AFWA Snow Depth
Graphics provided are derived from AFWA modeled snow depth data with a resolution of 0.5 degrees (48km). From the Snow Depth Data Assimilation System (SNOWDEP), the product uses surface reports, SSM/I satellite derived surface temperatures, and climatological data to create the daily updating data field. Data is then ingested to the CPC where a graphic and GIS-formatted file is created.
NESDIS Snow Cover
NESDIS snow cover products are updated daily at a resolution of 0.25 degrees (~24km). Inputs to the product are AMSU microwave observations from the NOAA-15 and 16 satellites
