Abstract Title: Robustness of the self-calibrating Palmer Drought Severity Index

Abstract: A new global dataset with monthly maps of the self-calibrating Palmer Drought Severity Index (scPDSI) has been constructed for the period 1901-2006 with a spatial resolution of 0.5 x 0.5 degrees. This dataset is based on the updated TS3.0 datasets of the Climatic Research Unit.
