The demonstration program has features designed for the forecaster:
- display single-variable fields such as Z500, U200
- display computed fields and composite charts such as
- mean-sea-level pressure & thickness
- isotachs and heights
- height and temperature
- absolute vorticity & height
- (Height-Height(12 hrs old)) & height
- omega (dP/dt) and relative humidity
- provides an interactive display of daily and monthly fields
- has easily changed the map projections
- under windows 95, simple printing and exporting of plots to a art package
- "demo" can be customized as it is a GrADS script
- easy to use, a replacement for a collection of old dusty analyses
The "Demo" runs on ordinary PCs and has features designed to be useful
for the forecaster. Many of the commonly used plots are available along
with a menu item to change the map projection. Under Windows95, you can
use the demo to make a plot, export the plot to an art package, use the
art package to add a front, "fix" a few isobars, and send it to your
windows printer.
