Fig 1. N/N Reanalysis - Reanalysis-2 300 mb RH for June 1984. Note the large difference in the tropics. There is little upper air humidity measurements and the RH is being determined by the model. Changes in the model's convective scheme can have large effects on the first guess and ultimately the final analysis.
