GSMaP_NRT (Global Satellite Mapping of Precipitation Near Real Time
product)
The GSMaP_NRT is a near real time product for GSMaP (Global Satellite
Mapping of Precipitation) algorithm. Algorithms for GSMaP_NRT
are based on GSMaP_MVK (see algorithm description) but only using
forward propagation of microwave estimated rainfall by cloud moving
vector, to deliver products in near real time within four hours after
observation.
Microwave radiometers, such as TRMM/TMI, Aqua/AMSR-E, and DMSP/SSMI (F13,
14, 15), are used for retrieval of rainfall estimates. Although rainfall
retrievals from microwave sounders, such as AMSU or MHS, are not
included in current version, we're plannig to use those in a next
version.
