Abstract Title: An Overview of the Global Monsoon Systems in 2007-08

Abstract: In this presentation, the CPC Global Monsoons team will summarize the main features of the major regional monsoon systems in 2007-08, including their annual cycles. It will also verify the prediction of monsoons by the NCEP Climate Forecast System. Most of the information will be from the team’s effort in monitoring and predicting the tropical-subtropical monsoon systems over the Americas, Africa, and the Asian-Australian sector.
