BioGraphical Sketch:
     Mingyue Chen is a meteorologist at the Development Branch of the Climate Prediction Center (CPC). Her main duty at CPC includes diagnosing NCEP Climate Forecast System (CFS) and assessing the model forecast performance, and monitoring global monthly and daily precipitation analyses. Dr. Chen received a B. S. degree in meteorology from the Nanjing Institute of Meteorology in 1985, a M. S. degree in atmospheric sciences in 1994 and a Ph. D. degree in atmospheric sciences in 1998 from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). From Jan 1998 to Oct 2007, Dr. Chen was a CPC-on site contractor and worked on global precipitation analysis including development and implementation of objective analysis algorithm and construction of global gauge precipitation analysis. She participated in a project to generate a suit of unified CPC precipitation products and developed the CPC unified global daily gauge analysis system and GTS daily gauge report quality control system.
