CTB National MME Planning Meeting

February 18th, 2011

The purpose of the meeting is to develop a plan to test and implement a National Multi-Model Ensemble (NMME) prediction system for operational intra-seasonal to interannual (ISI) climate forecasts.

Questions to be addressed in the meeting include

  1. What is the current status of climate forecast systems in US?
  2. What are the computer resource requirements to run multiple US models in real time?
  3. Who will run the models and where will they be run?
  4. What are the research gaps and resource requirements for experiments in FY12 & beyond?
