About the Data:
The Climate Prediction Center daily (1200 - 1200 UTC) precipitation reports are from over 10,000 stations across the US,
including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico in near real time (within 12 hours). The data include multiple sources across
the US: "First order" World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Global Telecommunications System (GTS) sites; NWS
Cooperative Observer Network (COOP) via River Forecast Centers (RFC) and Weather Forecast Offices (WFO); the
Hydrometeorological Automated Data System (HADS) dataset; the SNOTEL [SNOwpack TELemetry] dataset; and the Integrated
Flood Observing and Warning System (IFLOWS).
